Are the 12 wks per calendar year or benefit year

My employer is telling me that since I was out on FMLA in June 2012, I am not elibible for 12 more weeks until June 2013. FMLA guidelines state I am elgiblible for 12 more weeks if I have worked 1250 hours within the one year period preceeding the leave request, which I have. Is what my employer telling me true?
