A company I used to work for called me and told me they were creating a new team and wanted to know if I wanted to be a part of it and wondered if I would come back as the Office Manager, I left another job and was excited to take that position. I have worked their now for almost 7 months. About a month ago I was approached and told the company was struggling financially and would I mind helping out in another area and I was led to believe it was only temporary and I would just be helping out. I was lead to believe I would be going back to my original position. They first put me in a position I had done four years ago when I last worked there, two weeks working in that position without training they came to me again and said they needed help in another dept. and in fear of losing my job I agreed to try, they moved me again and I have been moved to an area, IT, within the company I am not qualified for and is very hard to learn. I am being pushed to learn a position that I am not comfortable with and not getting proper training. I went from Office Mgr to building Price Books. I recently took my concerns to the head of the department and Human Resources and told them I wanted to go back to my prior position, I was not happy and out of my element and it was not the job I was hired to do. I was then told that there was no other positions for me, the Office Manager position Had been eliminated, Work where your at or pretty much quit. I was shocked to say the least and now I am stuck in a position I was not hired for, I went from an Office Manager to an IT position that I do not have the experience for and I am struggling and disappointed to say the least. I feel like I was betrayed and set up and now am being used. I am actively seeking other employment but I am struggling with in this position and being pushed beyond my capabilities. If I leave will I be eligible to collect unemployment due to the fact that they changed my job description through no fault of my own. I have never been reprimanded and I was praised for doing a great job when I was the Office Mgr.
