commisisoned sales rep.

In short, I am a commissioned software sales rep. I get a base + 6% of the accounts I close. I have an employment contract.

My boss, the VP of sales, and I get along great and he tells me he is very happy with my work. The president and I have a personality conflict and I try to avoid him if at all possible.

I just closed a large deal and the president has decided to 'punish' me for leaving what he termed as 'early', last Friday. I got in at 7am, left at 3:30pm, and cleared it with my boss before I left. The pres. has never been happy with anything I have done, but really doesn't know what I do. I am not an hourly employee.

The commissions due are going to be in the neihborhood of $20k plus and I am still considered an employee of the company. Any recommendations besides looking for new employement?

Possible case

I think you may have a case, depending on what your contract says. You should talk to an employment lawyer in the Chicago area, preferably someone who is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, since its members are knowledgeable about claims like yours.
