What defines a client

My old company which I left on what I thought was good terms, is making noise about enforcing my non compete. I was in sales for an IT consulting company, and I am now more focused on recruiting. Am I only restricted from speaking with Clients with which we had contracts and did business, or am I restricted from the cold calling lists I put together and former clients (from previous company) with which we never did business but I did call.

Non-competes are to be applied and interpreted in Ohio in a manner which reasonably protects the legitimate interests of the company. It is highly unlikely that any court would include within "clients" the lists of cold calls made by a sales rep that did not result in business to the company.
