can i collect unemployment if terminated due to company policy

i violated company policy but with no intent of misconduct. I agree and I left on good terms with my employer. He has reached out to me several times to see how i was. I am concerned that i will not be eligible for unemployment because it is decided by the state. does my employer have any say in the decision even though it was just but not intentionally
