assaulted then fired

While replacing a broken exit sign as my supervisor instructed me to do I was physically assaulted and battered by another employee by throwing me from a 4' plywood cabnet I was standing on to the concrete floor, I injured my arm,and leg trying to prevent me from splitting my head open. I immediately went to my supervisor and we walked to the employee who assaulted me , While my supervisor was questioning him I shaken and hurt yelled at him , " that if he ever laid his hands on me again, I would have him arrested, He immediately charged me and grabbed me attempting to throw me to the ground again, I left the area and tried to collect my thoughts, Was then asked to fill out an incident report which I did and then was basically told by management to come back to work the next day as "Nothing ever happened"! I collected my thoughts and called the police and swore out a criminal complaint for the co-worker, E-Mailed all management and CEO about the insident and demanded a safe -Violent free work place, The next day I was called into to confrence room and was terminated. I was driven to the employers doctors office by management and dumpped off at the curb with my tools and no way to get back home,I had to call my fiance to take off work and come get me, I snt this some form of harassment, To be assaulted criminally and then terminated because I was trying to get my employer to ensure a safe workplace should be wrong?
