Will a non compete stand up if I signed it and the no one from the company signed the paperwork?

I started with my company as the assistant to the CEO. I signed the non compete then and he didn't sign the paperwork. I have been with the company for almost 5 years now and have worked my way up to Vice President of Sales. Never receiving any new paper work with each promotion. My non compete states that I cannot work in the same field within 100 miles and for one year. Will the non compete stand up in court?
