What if I signed a severance agreement, received a check & then they stopped payment on it?

I was notified about termination, signed a severance agreement & received a check for owed wages + 2 weeks severance all on the 17th. On the 22nd the employer stopped payment on check stating I deleted information they wanted access to, thereby voided the agreement. They state I deleted info on the 15th & 16th, before I was even aware of the termination. I was told I would be paid for days worked but no severance. They broke the contract, not me. What are my options?

Your options are limited to seeing an employment attorney and bringing all of the parpers with you and deciding whether it is likely worth pursuing. The only other option is to file something in the local municipal court on your own seeking payment of the 2 weeks.
