Ive been working with this company for 10 yr and it has been in business for 75 yrs. Recently the owner sold the property as well as other locations to a college. As of the 14 of feb. We received a letter with our checks saying the company is closing and well be laid of in March . Less than 30 days notification. We have not been offered severance pay. We are also in a local union and the president of the union says he has to pay us severance by law. He says he working on it but we havent hear nothing. If the owner does not pay us severance can we sue? Can we also sue the union for doing nothing?
