Severance Pay

My company is relocating to California and my job has been eliminated. I have been employed by this company for 12 1/2 years and have been offered 1 month severance pay. For this I have to train my boss to fully operate the company's current accounting software as I am the only one able to maintain the company's books, collect A/R from my customers, work with CPA's on relocation issues, not disclose the relocation of this company until it has been announced by the company and not start job interviews until after Sept 30. Can they make these demands?

Severance pay

They can make them. How much you cooperate is up to you. of course, they can fire you at any time without severance if they feel you are being uncooperative. Sorry I had no good news.
