Relocation Disaster

I took a position with a start-up in Pennsylvania in February 2001. It involved relocating from Houston TX.

I have been informed that I am being RIFed in a week. Do I have any recourse based upon being enticed to make a major move and then having the rug pulled out from under me in less than a year?

What are the facts?

Greetings:

Your question is very fact specific and depends upon those facts. Was there a contract? What was represented? Are you in a protected class? Is someone else being treated differently? What is the status of the company's finances? In order to evaluate your claim, these facts would have to be examined. I am a Pittsburgh Lawyer. Give me a call at 412-261-9933. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Bob Garber
