Pay Cut

My employer informed me one day before payday that I was being given a new role and compensation plan. I had worked for 9 days as acting GM and told 1 day before payday my pay would be $2000,00 less and I will be taking on a sales position. What are the state guidlines on this and what recourse do I have?
