Need help with worked Holiday pay!

My Employer has given certain "Paid Holidays" throughout the year. If I don't work on the holiday I get paid 8 hrs at regular pay. If I work a full 8 hrs. on one of these holidays, I get paid at 1.5 times regular pay and do not receive any compensation for holiday. Other people not working the holiday get the full 8 hrs at regular pay. Therefore I am actually only getting 1/2 regular pay for working on a holiday.

I'd rather not work the holiday and recieve regular pay than work and only receive 1 1/2 regular pay. Also, if i work only a partial holiday, I get paid 1 1/2 regular pay for hours worked and holiday pay at regular minus hours work on the holiday!

Is this legally correct for them to pay as such?
