My supervisor forced me to go on a voluntary trip even I told him that I have chest pain.

Over the past 3-4 years I was admitted 6 times into the ER because of having symptoms of a heart attack.
So last year my supervisor forced me to go on a volunteer day even so I told him that I have chest pain. So I went because I was afraid getting a bad performance review at the end of the year. This is what he did in the past. But he did it anyways and that cost me around $12,000.- US of missing out of my bonus and raise for the year 2010.

He told me that i do not have to do anything, just sit around. I could not do this because i felt humiliated in front of everybody who worked and i was just sitting around. So i was working as well. Despite the pain and breathing issues I had. Luckily nothing happened.

Is this legal or should I get legal help.
