My job was eliminated and I was offered 6 month severance. Can I get 1 year?

I've worked for this companhy for almost 31 years. I've had my pay frozen, salary reduced by reducing hours and removed from the management bonus plan after I was asked to write my own job description ad then to be told that it didn't grade high enough to be on the bonus plan. Just recently I was told my job was being eliminated and they offered bme 6 months severance. I thought the severence should have been 1 year. I'm 63 and 3 years from retirement.
