My company acquired a company that starts in the middle of a week. They will go over 40 hours but on separate payrolls. Do they still qualify for overtime?

We have a full asset acquisition effective 9/1/16. The acquired company stated that their employees have been working long hours the last three day under there own company payroll and want to know if will they qualify for OT this week. Example 35 hours worked under their company payroll and an additional 25 hours within the same week that will fall on my payroll. Do they qualify for the additional 20 hours of OT on my payroll?
