Is this an example of discrimination?

I was hired by a company November 1 2010. Everything was going well until April when the company conducted it's annual audio gram. Upon seeing the results of it they referred me to my doctor who regularly sees me. My Doctor stated that in the environment that I was working in that it was unsafe for me to work there.
My employer told me that they had no choice but to sever my employment. I understand it to a degree but feel it's unfair because I had worked there nearly 7 months then let go. they offer no severance pay and I hadn't worked enough hours in 2010 to draw disability.
