In live in colorado, is it legal for my employer to take me off the schedule without firing me or a formal suspension of sum sort?

I came in to work and was sent home for being late. The next day I was taken off the schedule. I asked my manager why and was told I needed to speak to the GM who is out of town for 2 weeks. He said I wouldn't be put back on the schedule until we have a meeting after he gets back.
My question, is it legal for them to suspend me for two weeks without a formal suspension, no writeup or warning? And am I considered fired?
