IL non-compete legality

We have recieved a new non-compete that we are required to sign by the end of the day. They included a specific list of companies that would prohibit us working for these companies for a period of 12 months. (You may not directly/ indirectly run, operate, contril, be enployed by, consult with, contribute knowledge to, hold any interest in, that is in competition with my company or that requires the utilization of the skills that were utilized or aquired during employement.)

Also is it legal in IL for the non-compete to require my currently employer to notify them in writing of the name and address of my new proposed employer? Also that I grant them permission to send them a copy of the agreement to the new employer.

Please Help!!

Let's Start With....

...What, if anything, you are getting for signing this document.

Do you get a long-term contract?

Do You get a raise or bonus?

Can't really help you much without this information.

I'll check back tomorrow.
