I was working full time and had an LLC business in my name. I was fired from my full time job and collected unemployment for a few months in 2017. The business is a single member LLC and in 2016, taxes were amended to my personal return. In 2017, the business will be filed separately as an S corp. I took no pay ($0) from the business in 2017, as I was unable to pay myself and keep it going. There was a net profit in 2017, but with upcoming expenses I didn't start to pay myself until January 2018. My question is this... did I break the law by collecting unemployment?
