I was recently told that my position will be eliminated due to a redundancy. I have been given the opportunity to apply to another position with a title that is more junior, but retains some of my old responsibilities. Do I forfeit the right to my severan

The junior position that they are offering me is all of the lower level functions of my current job, but with out the larger more interesting project related to my current role.

The junior role only covers about half of the responsibilities, but they are directly comparable to what I am currently doing. If this does effect my right to get severance, do I have to make an argument that this is new role is too junior?
