I was hired to be a registrar at a private school. Which promise training that I was never given.

I left a job of 17 years as an administrative assistant at a private Christian school to a high school principal to be trained to be the registrar at another private Christian school. I was offered and accepted the job with the understanding I would be trained for the position. Before the school year started they included the administrative assistant's duties as well with no increase in pay for doing two jobs. 2.5 years later I still have not been trained me to be a registrar. They are cutting my salary by $6000, acknowledging the training did not happen and explaining to me the administrative position will never pay what the registrar position pays. They have not offered to make it right by training me to do the position I was hired for and have explained to me that the pay in the cut was because the budget does not allow for the salary I was making to be paid to it administrative assistant. I will now be making less than I was making leaving my job of 17 years with no hope of ever getting to that level or the coming a registrar. I have had excellent reviews.
