I was fired because one of my workers said he would stay if they fired me.

I was Maintenance Superintenent (manager) at Amcast Automotive in Gas City, IN. Last week I was fired for "not doing my job". That evening I found out that one of the employees who reported to me bragged that he got me fired. He had another job lined up, put in resignation to me (I copied several people) and then was approaced by HR to find out what it would take to keep him employed. He said three dollar an hour raise to match his new offer, and that I needed to go. His last day was to be last Thursday. AS of today, he still is employed at Amcast, and I am not.

discrimination

If you are the same gender and race as the person who is bragging, there is nothing that you can do. If you believe that race or sex discrimination caused you to be fired, you might have a case.
