I disclosed to my employer during the interview that I had a disability. She did not ask what it was for. My psychiatrist is willing to write a letter, but I am worried that even if they accommodate me they will find another reason to fire me later. The ironic thing is that I work at a drug and alcohol inpatient rehab, where they state to the patients the importance of attending meetings, etc

As a general rule, employers may assign work. An employee who is disabled within the meaning of the Americans with Disabilities Act or state discrimination laws may request a reasonable accommodation of the disability to enable the employee to perform essential job duties.
