Will claiming money in a class action lawsuit violate my release agreement?

Does my release agreement keep me from claiming money owed from a class action lawsuit that I did not file? I was recently laid off and signed a release agreement in return for a severance package. Shortly there after I received a letter in the mail stating I was entitled to claim money from a class action lawsuit filed against my former employer. The employer settle the case and agreed to pay claimants. Am I safe to claim this money or will I be violating my release agreement. Thank you in advance
