I am a teacher who resign from a charter school. I sign my "at will" contract" back in march-April, but now I found a new job and put my 2 weeks notice on July 27. The school terminate me immediately and I was told that this was effective back to July 15?! and that is the reason why I would not be getting my check on August. they said my last check was on 7-20. Can they do that? Can I claim wrongful termination since I resign and I was considered a returning staff member? Can I request my accrued time earned with the company to be paid (40 hs)?
Do I have any chance to get paid at all?
can I request unemployment from july 21 to september 27 which is when I finally will have some money coming in?
