Forced to use FMLA?

I suffered an injury outside of work requiring surgery. The Dr. cleared me to return a week later with restrictions. Work would not allow me to return with my restrictions, so I filled out the form for a medical leave. After nearly 10 weeks I returned to work with no restrictions. Now, I have a 15 year old who is due to have a baby soon, and work has stated that I have only 10 days remaining on my FMLA that I can use to care for my daughter.
Can work force me to use FMLA for my injury when they would not allow me to return to work with my restrictions?
