Forced to face insults and harrassment without pay

I worked for a company through a staffing firm. I was hired as a sales rep. I performed exceptionally. The company had terrible customer service policies and I continually got cussed at by customers and vendors for the lack of concern on my boss' end. (Small company). I went to him several times telling him this wasn't part of my job description. He then quit paying my commissions and forced me to quit without receiving over $3000.00 in commissions. What can I do?

Getting Unpaid Commissions

If you were entitled to those commissions before you left employment, you should be able to make a successful claim for payment. Perhaps the easiest option is to go to the Texas Workforce Commission in your area and make a claim under the Texas Payday Law. Another option is to get a lawyer in the DFW area to try to collect it for you; if you do that, the lawyer would either take a contingency interest in the claim -- or file the suit and seek a recovery of fees from the agency. A third alternative is to file the claim yourself through a county court of law. I would suggest that you first try the TWC.

Good luck. I hope the company has the money to pay you.
