Final Week Wages Unpaid

I was terminated from an outside sales postion July 9 in Florida. My employer indicated I would be paid through the prior Friday, July 6.

I was in fact paid only through the previous week, June 29.

My compensation was a draw against commission.

I have gotten no responses from my former employer to my requests for either a statement of their intentions or explanation.

It is my position I am still owed 1 week of wages.

Prior to termination, I had been given no notice or had no discussions as to unsatisfactory performance, etc.

The amount in question is $1080. I would be willing to pay for some assistance if there is some legal basis for my position. If so, a letter referencing the appropriate statute would likely suffice. It is quite obvious my former employer is seeing what he can get by with.

I need to know if I have a legal position.
