Employer demanding I pay them back for overpaying me.
My employer had me sign an offer letter stating I would be making x. Just last week, I was promoted. They told me because in my new position, I would be making commission, they would be cutting my base pay (understandable). They then turn around and told me that the original base pay they offered me in my original position when I started was wrong; they over paid me (since July). They are now demanding that I pay them back. Is this legal?
