Does my company have to keep a copy of a sexual harassment charge on file.

approximately 1 year ago I made a complaint to my HR department about my boss making repeated sexual advances to me,even after asking and telling him to stop, he still persisted. Witnesses (coworkers) were interviewed and they found my claims to be true and as punishment told my boss to apologise to me. Recently he threatened to beat up right at work another co worker. This coworker went to HR with his complaint and at that time was told there is no other complaints in this bosses file. My question is shouldnt they keep a record of my sexual harassment complaint in his file? The place I work for has a reputation of sweeping claims against managment of this nature under the carpet. Also do I have the legal right to look at my employee file and take copies of things contained in it. Any advise you have for me will be greatly appreciated, Thank You
