Do I have a right to file a employer interference claim?

I was hired in for a job in 2017 that was misrepresented of actual job responsibilities. I was told in the interview my role would be spent 1/3 of the time on one area and 2/3 of the time on what I applied for. I was hired and the job was 95% of the job I was told would be 1/3. I expressed my concern to my HR manager. I remained in that role until I had to take FMLA in 2018. Two weeks prior to my FMLA I was told I would be moving to a "Stretch assignment" that more suited my background upon return from FMLA. I returned the work after FMLA on this Stretch assignment (nothing in writing), for 6-9 months. I have been performing the job and now I am being ask to apply for the position that was recently posted. I have not had a poor performance review and I have done the current job satisfactorily.

Also, there are a number of positions within the company equal to or comparable to my role where the employee did not have to interview for the role, they were moved into the role without going through a formal interview process.
