Do I have a retaliation case

I have worked for Costco for almost 5 years. I was recently accepted into the Hearing Aid Dispenser Apprenticeship Program. Life happens, and I asked via email if there were any openings for a hearing aid Apprentice or assistant in another state and kept my regional manager aware if my request (on a Friday morning). Monday I was informed that I was being removed from the hearing department and a job posting for my position was was put up the same day. Today ( a week later) I was offered my job back if I emailed a promise to remain there for 3 years. The contract I signed does mention 12 months with a mentor. I wonder if this falls into retaliation, or if asking me to promise 3 years without transferring to another Costco is even allowed. The handbook/employee handbook only states that if you leave to work outside of a Costco warehouse that you would be responsible for paying back Costco for the schooling. Thanks
