Demotion and pay cut

I started a new job as a Regional Operations Manager, I was in charge of three counties. at the time of hire, the company was opening six offices at the same time. A month later, I was told I was not assertive enough therefore I had 48 hours to decide to be an office manager or Director of Quality Measures, in which the COO was forceful to address to take the Director position. The day came when I was told the best position was to be director of QM. A week later I was told the position was 12K less that what i was doing and no stipend. (In which the stipen for previous position was never given to me.). After two weeks I was told in a Business Meeting I was no longer the Director but the Coordinator of the project. No reason of why. Two weeks later I was demoted to a specialist position, definitely less pay. should I look for another job? Are they trying to find ways to let me go?

Trying to find a way to let you go? Unless you have a contract or employment agreement that requires they have a reason, they can terminate you for any or no reason under the at-will doctrine in Florida. As for looking for a new job, if you are seeing the handwriting on the wall, it would be a good idea. Best of luck.
