Can my fmla be re-covered after it was denied?

I took an fmla leave, and exceeded the frequency and duration due to my illness,I was asked to recertify(was given 15 days) so i turned in the paperwork to my doctor who wanted to speak with the company handling my fmla as to why they needed such certification again as he said he certified it for 1 year, after they spoke he told them that he would fax the paperwork,(they gave me another 7 days to turn in the documents because he wanted to talk to the company, but they did not give me the 7 days in writing, it was an oral over the phone notice that i had 7 days to turn it in.) I called the company handling the fmla just to check if they received it or not(because when i spoke to them just a few days earlier they said they had talked to my doctor and he would fax it) but I did not get a call back or responce after leaving them a message asking if they got it or still needed my fmla paperwork , now my days were denied and i got a total of 104 points against me under my jobs attendance policy. if I bring in the certification form from my doctor can they back date my fmla to re-cover those days? this was an intermittant leave for my own serious health condition.(in case it helps, they had originally approved my leave days while waiting on the recertification forms, but then they denied them all. can they do that?)
