Can i sue my employer?

I have been requested to work off the clock numerous times, and felt threatened if i did not do so.
When people did not call in, my employer would show up at my house at all hours of day to request me to come in. I got rid of cell phones over 6 times because i felt harassed. I did not come in one day and my district manager walked up to me and asked me why i refused to come in... i said i have a life outside of work... he said no you don't you need to come in when called. there are a lot more instances including hostile work enviroment but i just don't know where to start with a suit if i were to attempt one... and can you settle out of court for this type of thing?
