Can a part of a non-compete void the whole agreement?

My non-compete with former employer contained three pages and I signed all three. On page two there was a paragraph which stated "can't work for anyone in this field, two years" I crossed it, I wrote "no" and initial it yet the company claims all non-compete stands even though I didn't agree with that paragraph. By the way, they fired me two days later hahahahha.

I like your chances,if your case went to court, of having a judge rule that there was not a meeting of the minds, and so, therefore, no contract. Particularly when you were fired two days later.
