Can I reopen an unemployment claim after doing contract work?

I claimed unemployment in May after getting laid off. After only several weeks of benefits, I accepted a contract (1099) position with a firm. My contract has expired, and the new one they are offering is not acceptable at all. Can I reopen my old claim?
