After working as a power plant operator since August, interviews were held in Jan. I got replaced by someone with zero experience, even when I had a letter of recommendation from the contracted employer. Nepotism, conflict of interest, and retaliation are

Mayor, H. Hootch, city council members W. Hootch, and J. Johnson conducted interviews Jan 16. Being a second class city manager form of government, including title 29, the council has no power to hire/ fire employees. The supervisor or the city manager are the only ones who can. They informed me that they'll recommend to the supervisor who should be hired after having a full council meeting. I get a text a couple of hours later from the supervisor saying the council chose R. Hootch to replace me. He has no experience in that field and even with a letter of recommendation for me to continue working, they still had me replaced. I worked since Aug of '17 as assistant power plant operator and had hands on training with the linemen, mechanics, and accounting for payroll. There was a few instances where during a power outage, I was the only one to respond to the plant and handle the issues with the generators. Conflict of interest, nepotism, retaliation are factors involved in my case.
