is this defamation
i was working for a restaraunt in nc. the party in which i was waiting on told my manager that i cursed them and told thier child that i yelled at him saying Put your hand down. i have not discussed this with anybody at work.
i went in yesterday and the bartender said "hey penney!" I heard you went psycho. i reitterated that I did nothing wrong. the bartender was not even there that night.
i was mortified and very upset because everyone in the restaraunt in ear shot heard this comment. i have filed unemployment and they have not answered the complaint yet.
is this grounds for slander.
