hOW LONG DOES AN EMPLOYER HAVE TO HOLD YOUR POSITION IF YOUR OUT ON DISABILITY?

I AM CURRENTLY FILLING IN AS A DAYCARE DIRECTOR BECAUSE THE DIRECTOR IS OUT ON DISABILITY. HOW LONG CAN THEY HOLD THE POSITION? DO THEY HAVE A LEGAL OBILGATION TO PAY ME AT THE SCALE OF MY NEW POSITION?
