favoritisam

What if my manager favors certain employees and promotes them with no reason, while some of us that had more work done and were in time never got the chance. The work that they did was not even close to ours, not to mention that everyday they were late for work. Can this be some type of discrimination?

favoritism is not illegal

favoritism without more is not illegal, unless it is based on some protected characteristic. for example, if the boss favors his girlfriend over a male coworker, there may be gender discrimination. if the boss favors a friend of his same race, over coworkers of a different race, that may be race discrimination. but simply favoring one employee over another is not discrimination.
