false statements that cause me to be fired

coworkers made false statements to cover there own mistakes. Now I'm being fired for abuse when I had nothing to do with the statements that are being said about me. The resident has made numerous false claims in the past, but to suit state they got rid of me. I have evidence of my supervisor making comments about the resident. What are my rights

False statements published to third parties may support a defamation claim against the individuals who made derogatory false statements. If statements are made to persons without a need to know about a situation, there could be a possible false light invasion of privacy.
