Wrong demotion/salary

Hi, I've been working at this company for 8 years - I've worked my way up to my current title. I've never had any negative performance reviews or negative feedback- all performance reviews have been a 'star performer' for the most part. I've been working in my current position for the past 5 years. Just last week I was told I was being demoted (as well as another manager that has worked here for 8+ years) into a different position/less salary only because of a 'business' decision, nothing more they said. They are demoting me to a different position (lesser title) - a position that I have done before at this company and a 7K less salary. We have a new CEO who is making many changes. What are my rights here?
