With a non compete, can my employer find me in violation if my wife works for a competitor.

In the agreement it states that I can not be "employed by, connected with, participate in, consult or otherwise associate with any other business similar to or competitor of employer. My wife was offered a job at a different company that does the same line of work. Could this be considered a breach of my contract if she took the job.

No. Only a party to an agreement can be bound by the agreement. Best of luck to your wife in her new job.
