USERRA and contractor job

I work for a civilian contractor that is contracted out to various deployed locations. I also work for the California Air National Guard. My guard unit has been flexible about letting me make up missed drills while I’m deployed but when I’m stateside I’m expected to show to drill which is understandable.
Recently my civilian contractor job came out with new training requirements that require us to train for our deployments within a certain time before deploying. They send me from CA to TX for this training which is M-F and state that they will get us plane tickets home on Saturday. My drill for the CA ANG falls on Saturday and Sunday and I specifically gave the civilian company my drilling dates beforehand. I’m asking that they get me home from training on Friday night or Saturday morning to ensure I can drill. They said they will “try” but cannot guarantee anything. In a separate email received this morning I was told I “may have to choose between my military service and this job” because they need to fulfill training requirements before I deploy. There are different dates they can send me, and I’m not asking them to move my deployment around. I would even be willing to fly home from training on Friday and return Sunday night after drill to continue any training that didn’t get accomplished, but I don’t want to have to do this on my own dime. I live very close to the base at home and I thought it was the civilian companies obligation to allow drill and not make an employee choose between military service and the civilian job.
