Terminated for no significant improvement in attitude

I was terminated for having no significant improvement in attitude with written and verbal warnings in mid 2015. However, not even a week before my termination my manager texted me saying he could not run the plant without me. Since December I have maybe 3-4 similar text messages saying the same. Less than a week before my termination my manager and I had an argument where he became violent and aggressive over my, "attitude." He had me close and lock the door and while arguing he became violent by slamming his phone and fists on his desk. A few days later he wanted to speak privately and had me lock the office door with him alone and told me how much he cares about me and wants the best for me. He also said I would always have his support. Afterwards he wanted to give me a hug and I refused but offered a handshake I told him he had crossed the line. Once he took my hand he pulled me in to give me a hug. I did not hug him back but stood still and quickly unlocked the door and left. Since then I have not talked to him about anything non-work related even though he has intiated it. Since then there was also a meeting with 2 supervisors, another employee, and myself he told us that none of us would be going anywhere and he wanted us on his team. I never spoke to HR about this because everytime I mentioned that I want to keep things work related to my manager he threatened that if I wanted him to be like that he could be like that. He has also told my mother (shes supervisor there) and I sexually provocative things about him and his wife. He has asked me alone if my boyfriend and I had names we call each other. He is chinese therefore sometimes he's not good with some words. I thought he meant nicknames but then he said like "mommy and daddy." In the recent months I've felt that my job security depended only on my personal relationship with him and not my work performance or attitude within the company. I have text messages from him even telling me that the owners of the company said that they love me. This company has all of its human resources and superiors in Canada therefore it was really only him and I in the office and warehouse. He has shown me confidential emails from the VP about firing some workers only after they train new workers. The time between me rejecting his hug and my termination was not even a week.
