Signed contract-Changed Mind

I am a physician. I have accepted a position and signed a contract which is effective August 1, 2005. I have now changed my mind and no longer wish to take the position.

I have not received any form of advanced payment nor a sign-on bonus.

What legal consequences should I expect if I change my mind now?

Controlled by Contract

This is one of those questions that no one will be able to answer for you until they have an opportunity to read the contract at issue. My experience with physician contracts is that they typically contained fairly detailed provisions regarding early termination by one part or the other. Carefully review your document to see if it spells out any specific remedies for the employer. If you wish to contact us you may at www.mckinneylaw.net
Take care.
