Severance being denied, vacation request taken as resignation
Worked for a company for 10 years. Contract was ending 9/30. I had 5 weeks vacation saved up. Put in a vacation request for 10 days, coming back 2 days prior to end of contract to turn in company items. Received an email from HR saying my vacation request is being taken as a resignation therefore no severance is being paid. The discussion with manager was that I was taking vacation, he kept saying you are quitting. Who would quit with 2 weeks left and lose 10 years of severance. What do I do?
