Severance Agreement - Co. likely to go into CH 11 during 21 day eval period

As part of my offer letter (7 yrs ago) - I have a 3 month severance agreement.
I was let go on Aug 11th....It appears the company may file on Aug 27th. Does it matter that I wait until they file (or take the chance) before signing the agreement?

I know if I sign the agreement before they file, I am out of luck as another unsecured creditor.

As an over 40 employee - I have a 21 day grace period. Do I benefit by waiting out the grace period as the company files CH 11?
